Postgraduate Studies

In the Department of Philology at work, from the acad. year of 2018-19, two Postgraduate Programs (E.M.P.):

(A) "Studies in classical, byzantine and modern Greek secretariat"in accordance with the provisions of law.4485/2017.

The MSC program "Studies in classical, byzantine and modern Greek literature" leads solely to the award of the Postgraduate Diploma of Specialization (MSC) in the following specializations: 1. Classics 2. Byzantine Literature 3. Modern Greek Literature.

The number of students in the program is defined as a maximum in forty (40) with the following distribution: up to fifteen (15) in Classical Studies, up to ten (10) in Byzantine Literature, and for up to fifteen (15) in modern Greek Studies.

The programme is open/s graduates of all Departments of the Faculties of Philosophy and the relevant parts of other schools of Humanities, Social and Historical Studies (e.x. the Department of Theatre Studies and the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Patras, Department of History and Anthropology, University of Thessaly, etc.) the Greek A.E.I. and peer-recognized Institutions abroad, as well as graduates parts of T.E.I.

The minimum duration of study is four (4) academic semesters, including the time for preparation of I, as the law stipulates.

The total of ECTS required for the acquisition of the M.D.E. eur 120. The teaching of the courses can be done in Greek and/or English. For the download of the Msc Degree.D.E.) the students are required to attend and successfully in a total of 6 semester courses during the first 3 semesters (ie. 2 courses in the first half, 2 in the second semester and 2 in the third semester) and to prepare successfully diploma Thesis (I) in the 4th semester.

(B) "Linguistics: Language and Communication"(Government GAZETTE 1715/17.05.2018 sq. (B) in accordance with the provisions of law.4485/2017.

The MSC program "Linguistics: Language and Communication leading to the award of a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (BMI) in "Linguistics: Language and Communication".

The number of students in the program is defined up to a maximum of eighteen (18).

In The P.M.P. admitted/s predominantly graduates of all Departments of the Faculties of Philosophy and the relevant parts of other schools of Humanities, Social and Historical Studies (e.x. the Department of Theatre Studies and the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Patras, Department of History and Anthropology, University of Thessaly, etc.) of the Greek Universities and equivalent recognised Institutions abroad, as well as alumni/s parts A.Sq.E.I. In exceptional cases it may be admitted/s, and alumni/s other Departments provided that the necessary conditions (mainly adequate knowledge of Linguistics).

The minimum duration of study is four (4) academic semesters, including the time for preparation of I, as the law stipulates.

The total of Credit Units (E.M. or ECTS) required for the acquisition of BMI amounts to 120 ECTS. The teaching of the courses is done in the Greek Language. For downloading the BMI of the students are obliged to attend and successfully in a total of six (6) semester courses during the first 3 semesters (ie. 2 courses in the first half, 2 in the spring semester and 2 in the C semester) and to prepare successfully diploma Thesis (I) in the 4th semester.
