The Department is part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Patras, actively contributing to the advancement of the humanities and interdisciplinary research.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate studies are organized into three specializations: <strong>Classical Studies, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, and Linguistics<\/strong>. Through these, students study language, literature, and culture from antiquity to the modern era, developing critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to analyze, synthesize, and clearly articulate well-documented academic discourse.<\/p>\n<p>Studies in the Department are also aligned with the <a href=\"https:\/\/unric.org\/en\/sdg-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a>. Through the content and teaching of individual courses, students engage with issues related to quality education, equality and inclusion, reduced inequalities, as well as the promotion of peace, justice, and strong institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The educational experience is closely linked to contemporary research. The <strong>four Postgraduate Study Programs<\/strong> offer multiple paths of specialization, while the Department&#8217;s <strong>four research laboratories<\/strong> bring students into contact with primary material, manuscripts, archives, linguistic data, digital infrastructures, and international scientific networks.<\/p>\n<p>Outward-lookingness is a core element of our identity. Through <strong>48 inter-institutional agreements <\/strong><strong>Erasmus<\/strong><strong>+<\/strong>, significant opportunities for mobility, academic exchanges, and international experiences are offered. At the same time, the Department welcomes students, faculty, and researchers from abroad, fostering an open and multilingual academic environment.<\/p>\n<p>The connection between studies and professional experience is enhanced through <strong>paid Internships<\/strong>, which enable graduates to collaborate with museums, schools, research centers, publishing houses, cultural organizations, media, and linguistic and digital service providers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Three specializations.
